El puente de San Martín esta situado al Oeste de Toledo. Existía ya a mediados del siglo XVI, sustituyendo a otro ubicado en sus inmediaciones. Fue destruido en la guerra entre Pedro I y Enrique II, y reedificado por orden del obispo Pedro Tenorio.
El puente es de cinco arcos apuntados sobre robustos pilares y cuenta con dos torreones hexagonales en sus extremos. La entrada a la ciudad esta presidida por un gran escudo imperial con sus correspondientes reyes sedentes.
El torreón interior esta muy desfigurado por añadidos y reformas posteriores, bajo el reinado de Carlos II, mientras que el exterior guarda sus bóvedas nervadas y arcos ojivales y de herradura.
Fue declarado declarado Monumento Nacional en 1921.
